Champions
Champions are the playable characters of PokéVoid. Each Champion has a unique type specialisation, signature Pokémon, a personal Skill Tree, and their own lore within the story of the Void. Choosing the right Champion shapes your entire playstyle.

How Champions Work
Each Champion has:
- Type Specialisation — most Champions can only use Pokémon matching their type affinity. Apollo and Diana are the exception — they receive two random types at the start of every run.
- Signature Pokémon — special starters unique to that Champion. They can develop unique Alt Builds — alternate forms with different stats, abilities, and types.
- Skill Tree — a deep branching tree of upgrades unlocked by levelling up the Champion. Each level unlocks a new node: Mega Stones, abilities, legendary Pokémon, Glitch Form quests, and more.
- Unlock Requirements — most Champions are locked inside the Void and must be freed by collecting specific Essences. Once freed they start with an empty Pokémon collection.
Champion XP & Levelling
Champions gain XP through play. Each level reveals a new Skill Tree node. Nodes cost Skill Points (SP) to activate and some require Skill Tree Tokens (TK) to unlock deeper levels.
Type-specific Champions gain extra XP from battles involving their type affinity.
