Items

Items are one of the primary progression vectors within a run. After every battle, you choose one of three randomly offered items. Items range from single-use consumables to powerful passive bonuses that compound over a full run.

Item Categories

Consumables

Single-use items like healing potions, revives, and status cures. These can also be purchased from the shop during battle rewards.

Held Items

Equipped to individual Pokémon. Effects generally stack in various ways with duplicates. Examples include damage boosters, speed items, and defensive tools drawn from mainline Pokémon games.

Passive Run Items

Permanent for the duration of the run. These include things like catch rate boosts, money multipliers, and other run-wide effects.

Form Change Items

Items that trigger specific Pokémon form changes (Mega Evolution, Dynamax, Smitty Forms, Glitch Forms).

Mega Evolution & Dynamax

To Mega Evolve or Dynamax a Pokémon you need the Mega Bracelet or Dynamax Band first. Once obtained, the appropriate form change item will begin appearing in rewards. After using it, the Bracelet or Band breaks.

Glitch Items

Reality-altering items unlocked by collecting Glitch Pieces. See the Glitch System article for full details.

Party Abilities

A special high-cost item purchasable from the Shop. Applies a selected ability to all Pokémon in your current party for the duration of the run. Powerful examples include Speed Boost or Technician for every team member simultaneously.

Shop Behaviour

The in-run shop refreshes its entire inventory with each purchase. This means:

  • Buy what you need before picking your random item (picking the free item advances to the next battle)
  • FREE items randomly appear in the shop's inventory — watch for them
  • The variety and power of available items increases with your wave count
